The QCAD Guidebook for New Students project was developed to create a welcoming, visually engaging, and informative resource for incoming students at the Queensland College of Art & Design. Drawing on QCAD’s long history—dating back to 1849—and its reputation as one of Australia’s leading creative institutions, the guidebook was designed to celebrate the college’s identity while providing essential information on courses, facilities, and opportunities.
The guidebook uses a carefully crafted layout, combining typography, photography, and graphic design to make complex information accessible and visually appealing. Bold geometric forms were incorporated into the lettering of “QCAD,” paired with vibrant colours and textures to establish a dynamic, contemporary aesthetic that reflects the spirit of the creative community.
